ABOUT AMY

My childhood was spent growing up on a farm in East Yorkshire. I'd consider myself a proper country bumpkin through and through; if I wasn't messing around with dogs or ponies, I was tree climbing or den making!
I was eager to get straight into work and travel at the age of 16 so I moved to the Channel Island of Sark. From there onwards, I spent my 12 years in the hospitality trade travelling to many different countries. It gave me opportunities to work and travel all over the world, and taught me the importance of discipline, customer service and doing something I enjoyed immensely. I adored the regimented atmosphere of the kitchen, the banter, and of course the absolute thrill of creating Michelin starred food. My goal throughout my time in hospitality was to own and run my own restaurant, hotel or gastro-pub with rooms. I tirelessly worked towards this by working in, and gaining experience from, many renowned restaurants. Each time I was offered a promotion, I decided to move on to a more highly acclaimed restaurant and work up from the bottom again. I did this in roughly 3-9 month stints, over and over, it was by far the best way to learn my trade.
Though I never lost my passion for hospitality and fine dining, I knew that it would be extremely unlikely to be able to make the jump from being the general manager of the no1 gastro-pub in Lincolnshire (my last job within the restaurant trade) to restaurant ownership. Feeling adamant that I no longer wanted to work for someone else, my jump into property investing came upon the realisation that what I truly wanted to be working towards was building a business of income generating assets that provide a stable passive income. This would provide opportunities in the far future to perhaps return to the industry as the owner of a hospitality premises.
In all honesty, since discovering that I have as much passion for the property industry as I have for the hospitality industry, I can't see myself returning. Simply what I love about being in property is the freedom it brings. I can spend so much more time doing things that I love and travelling.
